handshake

What’s worse than having a difficult client, who has monopolized your time while grinding you on the price?

When that client decides to walk on you for any number of reasons & leaving you wondering what the heck just happened? Find out how to avoid this after the jump.

One of the biggest things I’ve had to learn and REMEMBER is to make sure that any client I’ve had is under a contract and in most cases has paid a deposit. However, this can be hard to do with people constantly trying to find the lowest bidder and in fact has COST me potential clients, but has probably saved me a headache. There are plenty of places to find good examples of contracts but I would recommend reading the newest version of the Graphic Artists Guild guidebook. You can also check out this site & this site (found through a google search)

Make sure you have a drawn up agreement at the start of each project to make sure that both you and the client receive what you deserve. Remember each project should begin with more than a handshake.
