Cantina Lounge Menus

I had the opportunity to create the dinner and to-go for Cantina Lounge, a Mexican fusion sports bar in Fullerton. The goal for these menus was to keep a mexican influence while being easy to read and affordable to reproduce.

The solution was a simple and clean layout with clearly defined sections, and prominant food titles and prices. The color of the stock, combine with the colors of the type were reminiscent of hispanic adobe and neutral cream colors, and the font for the headers (Dear Joe) provided an elegant contrast to the font of the food description (Din). Recently the fonts were updated by removing the Dear Joe font for the headers and using Din Bold for them as it increased visibility in the low lighting of the dinner restaurant.

The cream stock was an 8.5 x 14 100lb text sheet with a 4.25 x 14 insert for the appetizers, soups and salads. This was not only the most efficient use of the stock, but it was also the most cost-efficient, allowing us to come well within the clients budget and to pass the savings on to them.

The Take-out menu was designed as a double parallel fold, 4 panel menu. The aesthetics of the menu were consistent with that of the dinner menu, but we also featured some great photos of the food and venue to entice customers to visit the location. The stock was an 8.5 x 14 glossy text.
