Graphic Novel: The Green Monk

I recently heard about this book after perusing the Twitter stream and I came across the artist Brandon Dayton (@brandondayton) talking about his newest novel being for sale. Never one to turn down the opportunity to snag some original artwork from a talented artist, I cruised over to his site and was instantly impressed by his style and talent.

The Green Monk, is hand inked by Brandon and tells the story of a wandering monk blessed (or cursed?) with the infamous Green Blade, a weapon able to destroy any thing made by man or magic. It’s 5 x 7 format is 132 pages, with short snippets of text on pages, that allow the imagery to speak and be appreciated. Well crafted and masterfully drawn, the book is a ridiculously good deal, listed at $5 ($8 after shipping).

If you’re a fan of great artwork, it would behoove you to pay a visit to Brandon’s site browse through his artwork for sale and if you are moved to do so, support an up-and-coming young artist. I was definitely not disapointed and I’m sure you won’t be either.
