You’ve probably heard about HDR photography by now. These dramatic images provide eye-popping colors and contrast of subjects, taking them from mundane to magnificent.
Some of these photos look so intense that you would think that they were manipulated/enhanced beyond the HDR process. Some even look as if they were hand drawn or painted. None of these photos (or any of the HDR lists I came across) had any further manipulation and any of the surreal aspects of the photos are due to the HDR process only.

Whoa some of these look straight up animated. Sounds like a complicated process but it’s not that bad. Holograms…now that is some complicated stuff. Do a blog post on that.
Holograms eh? That may just be a future post sir.
I am always curious how these shots of cities are done as an aerial. When you do HDR you put the camera on a tripod and don’t move, however these shots over a city have the photographer moving to be at that elevation. So I am skeptical how they pull this off.
In all my years of photography, and travel have I found the perfect car or old truck sitting in a field that I could access let alone have all the elements of sky and lighting all working for me including the old wreckage of a car or truck to make these shots.
Just a couple observations.
Sometimes I’ve wondered how they happen to find such PERFECT locations for these particular shots but then I just realize that heck, they are really gorgeous shots and Ill just appreciate them for what they are.
