HELLLOOOO 2010!

Happy New Year to you all! We’ve made it through the first decade of the new millenium still alive and, if the Mayans are correct, with only 2 years until the end of the world. w00t?

Hopefully your New Years Eve was spent as it should be, with friends and family, laughing and enjoying the end of 1 year, and the beginning of the next. It’s always an exciting time around New Year’s as the new year for many will represent a clean slate, a fresh start, and more importantly it will represent hope. This year, I had the opportunity to ring in this New Year in deep thought and quiet reflection in one of the calmest cities in the U.S: Las Vegas, NV. With my camera in tow, and the entourage (@bobbiev, @mexicandude, @anythinganthony and @irishman36) at my side, we made a course for Las Vegas on Wednesday (New Year’s Eve Eve) with money in our pockets and hope in our hearts. We needed a lot more of both for this trip.

After arriving in Vegas, I began hitting up all of my Twitter contacts in the area and was stoked when I heard back from @24k and @ManyaS, both of whom informed me of the @polazzolasvegas Moet Champagne tweetup at their beautiful Laguna Lounge. Never one to turn down a tweetup when I can make it, we took a few hour to decompress from the drive, and then made our way out to the fabulous Polazzo hotel. When we arrived we walked to the Laguna Lounge, checked in and sat down with our glass of Moet champagne.

We chatted with @24k and @vegasbill, whom were there are already, @WHHSHPR, and also had the chance to talk with the some members of the @polazzolasvegas team: Lori, Leslie, and LeAnn (aka @pisapr). These ladies were fantastic expressing a genuine interest in connecting and engaging with their fans, and potential guests. No cheesy sales pitches, no “we’re the best hotel schpeel”, just a friendly smile, firm handshake and engaging conversation.

After a few more glasses of Moet, I left the Polazzo hotel a fan, with a few more people to follow, and a great start to the trip. We met up with our homie @deadshot8 who also happened to be there with his girl and friend and from there headed back home for a bit more R & R before the nights shenanigans.

Day 1 ended with us #fistpumping the night away at the Hard Rock Hotel’s bar “Wasted Space“. They really killed it there with a DJ & drummer live act that really pumped up the energy a couple notches.

Day 2 began innocently enough with us staying in and resting up for the insanity that lie ahead of us that night. A journey to find some In-N-Out, a couple of wardrobe changes, and a quick gear supply check, and we were out the door on the strip headed to the designated way-point O’Shea’s, located right across from Caesar’s Palace, where the nights firework and festivities would be going down. Not much more to talk about here, aside from the fact that it was 30˚, the night was a complete success. The strip was crowded, but not too crowded, we only saw one fight, nobody got “snookied” or arrested, and we were all together to celebrate the coming of the new decade.

If you are ever looking for something to do for New Year’s Eve, allow me to DEFINITELY recommend going to Las Vegas. Roll with friends, leave early, bring warm & comfortable clothes, plan ahead, and check out @polazzolasvegas for your possible destination. It’s a great place to be with your friends and loved ones, and what better place to spend NYE than with a storm tropper standing next to port-a-potties on the Vegas strip.
